Our Story Begins

Infusion House began as a response to a deeper calling, one that extended past the walls of a clinic and into the lives of our community.

After 30 years of clinical bodywork and herbal medicine with individuals, Beth felt it was time to offer a broader, more accessible container for healing. One that invites people into a relationship with plant wisdom that is easily accessible no matter the circumstance, location, or environment. Through thoughtfully crafted mixes and intentional plant offerings, we support individuals in cultivating connections with plant allies that nourish, reconnect, and replenish the body and spirit.

Meet the Founder

Herbalist. Healer. Relational Medicine Maker.

Infusion House was founded by Beth Yohalem-Ilsley (she/they), a licensed acupuncturist, bodyworker, herbalist, and co-founder of Mississippi Health Center in Portland, OR. With decades of clinical experience and a deep devotion to accessible, non-performative healing, Beth brings her whole self to this work.

Her background includes a Master’s in Acupuncture, a postgraduate certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine, and advanced training in everything from Pacific Northwest herbalism and Spiritual Herbalism to Somatic Abolition, pelvic steam facilitation, and multiple hands-on therapies.

Beth’s approach is relational and reverent—each formula and product is born from the belief that true healing begins with remembering our own inner wisdom and our connection with those that have come before us, specifically through plant wisdom. She envisions Infusion House as an offering to the community that allows for this connection. Infusion House is more than an apothecary; it’s a space where sacred plant ritual meets everyday care, where healing is allowed to be nonlinear and more than human, and where the body’s intelligence is honored at every step.

Our Approach

Uncompromising Sourcing. Relational Craft.

Infusion House exists in deep relationship with the land, the plants, and the people who grow them. We partner with small herb farms, wildcrafters, and trusted suppliers who share our values around ecological responsibility, labor equity, and vibrant plant medicine. Our selections prioritize quality over quantity, choosing herbs based on freshness, scent, color, and energetic clarity, not bulk price or convenience.

Each ingredient is handled with intention from field to formula. We craft every batch in-house in limited quantities, allowing us to maintain potency, freshness, and the kind of attention to detail that large-scale operations simply can’t replicate. No shortcuts. No fillers. No performative greenwashing. Just herbalism rooted in reverence, rigor, and real relationship.

Our candles are hand-poured by a local artisan just blocks from Beth’s home—a collaboration built on mutual respect for craftsmanship, slow process, and community care. Each candle is made in small batches using clean-burning soy wax and thoughtfully chosen scents that support energetic system regulation and ritual. Like everything at Infusion House, they’re created with intention, rooted in relationship, and designed to nourish more than just your space.

Gratitude

I would not be here without my original herb teacher and mentor, Cascade Anderson Geller. Fresh from the concrete jungle of NYC to Portland, OR, I stumbled into Cascade’s herb shop in 1988. Transfixed by the smells and visuals of hanging and jarred dried herbs in her shop I quickly fell into her teachings to follow the path of becoming an herbalist.

Another note of deep gratitude to Karen Rose, founder of Sacred Vibes Apothecary in Brooklyn, NY. My recent Spiritual Herbalism apprenticeship with Karen was life changing.

Keli Lovejoy, founder and CEO of Steamy Chick Institute, introduced me and so many women  to the world of pelvic steaming.

I thank all my herb teachers from Bastyr University for providing me with excellent Chinese Medicinal Herb training.

I thank my husband, Justin, and my grown children Jazzy and Simon for all their enthusiastic support with the creation of Infusion House.

And I want to thank each of you for being here.

May we all feel and find our authentic paths.

With love,

Beth
