“Tea” actually refers to the plant Camellia sinensis, a species of evergreen shrub or small tree in the flowering plant family Theaceae. Its leaves, leaf buds, and stems are used to produce tea. The word tea is erroneously used synonymously for all steeped herbal beverages. What we have here at Infusion House are herb blends designed for drinking but none of it is actually tea. Rather, the herbal blends are made into beverages by either infusion or decoction method.

In general, infusions are used for more delicate parts of the plant such as leaves and flowers. Decoctions are used for roots, bark, seeds and more dense material.

Most of the blends at Infusion House can be made via the infusion method. The longer the steep the more potent the effects of the herbs will be. Herbal infusions

  • Burdock root
  • Dandelion root
  • Nettle leaf
  • Calendula flower
